Reflexiones de Un Misionero en Camino

The other day I found myself walking through the shopping mall near our apartment in order to complete an errand. Given that I have frequented this shopping mall many times before, I am familiar with the different stores, the people who staff those stores, and even the head of the security staff over the entire mall. I saw almost all of those people on this occasion. However, there was something different about this particular visit to the shopping mall. What was the difference? The difference was that I heard Christmas music explicitly worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ in the background playing through the sound system.    El otro día estuve caminando en el centro comercial cerca de nuestro departamento. Tuve una diligencia por atender, y caminé con prisa para terminar con el asunto pendiente y volver a mis labores. He caminado por este centro comercial muchas veces antes. Estoy familiarizado con las tiendas diferentes, sean de ropa, muebles, zapatos o medicina. Estoy familiarizado con las personas que atienden dichas tiendas, las personas que las visitan e incluso el jefe de personal del equipo de seguridad. Vi a casi todas estas personas en esta ocasión. Hace algunas semanas mi esposa y yo asistimos a una conferencia para matrimonios patrocinada por una iglesia hermana en Quito, Ecuador. Esta conferencia tenía aproximadamente 250 asistentes, de las cuales representaron varias iglesias de Quito y otras ciudades de Ecuador. Al entrar al salón de la conferencia, estuve sorprendido por la cantidad de personas conocidas presentes. Vi también un puesto de libros relacionados con el matrimonio, además de propagandas de algunas de las editoriales de literatura cristiana más conocidas en el mundo hispanoparlante. Siendo yo un cristiano (¡un misionero!) uno hubiera pensado que hubiera estado contento y feliz al ver tantas personas conocidas y tener tanta accesibilidad a literatura cristiana de doctrina bíblica y Cristocéntrica.  Sin embargo, inicialmente no me sentí contento y feliz.
